The brand I eat is the ONLY chocolate I will ever eat again. But, I’d start now. It’s getting really close. Last summer after eating high antioxidant chocolate for 2 months, my back which previous to last year was in the cycle of tan, peel, tan peel tan and peel was just TANNING. No sunburn and no peel. I thought, huh, interesting. I did a bunch of research and turns out other people have already done research on this. If you click on the awesome photo of my favorite food, you’ll see one example of clinical research in suntanning.

This is where I get Geek. Remember how I talked about “Theodent” in my last blog post? Well this is the molecular compound of Theobromine, which is what is in the cacao bean. Theobromine is good for lots of health reasons (google them) and one of them being, increasing lung function which makes it great for asthma.

Two weeks ago I was out in Telluride, CO at 9500k+ feet and usually at that altitude, I am really struggling. Struggling to breathe, struggling to walk fast to keep up with my friends in the cold and struggling with muscle pain and headaches. Since I’ve been consuming theobromine in this crazy Xocai chocolate I eat as part of my diet, I actually had no headaches, no muscle pain and weakness and no asthma at all! I actually ran up a slope just for kicks to see if I could do it. I did it, with no issues at all. It was like I was at sea level. I was shocked. Turns out big pharma is trying to create a drug out of it too. Its going to cost consumers a heck of a lot of more money I bet. Big Pharma tries to replicate nature, HA. Nature already won. (Click on the picture)

I love this chocolate and theobromine. Thank you theobromine. You are the fuel for my mountains.

Antioxidants in Toothpaste in the form of... CHOCOLATE.

Antioxidants in Toothpaste in the form of... CHOCOLATE.:
I saw something rad at Wholefoods today… CHOCOLATE TOOTHPASTE. No really. I did. It’s called THEODENT. Google it. There’s an amazing compound in raw chocolate called Theobromine which is for opening up lung function in asthmatics (works GREAT for me in high altitudes, I no longer need my inhaler and can actually RUN up hills at 9500k feet!!) and great for repairing heart function after a heart attack. Theobromine is also great for your teeth! I eat pharm. grade cold-pressed chocolate everyday and my dentist, this visit told me how impressed she was with my teeth and said that “you should keep doing whatever it is you are doing.” (errrr eating chocolate…) Anyhow click on the title for the link to the sciencey- stuff…

Do you know what an ORAC score is? An ORAC score is the measure...

Do you know what an ORAC score is? An ORAC score is the measure of antioxidant capacity in food and stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. It was developed by scientists at the National Institutes of Health. More and more nutritionists and doctors are recommending nutritional diets high in antioxidants. Why? Because antioxidants are are a specific class of nutrients in our foods which can prevent and repair the oxidative damage to our body. When our body cells use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals which can damage our cells. Antioxidants mop up these free radicals. Free radical damage alters our cells, causing inflammation and thus leading to serious diseases such as heart disease, macular degeneration, diabetes and cancer. Free radical damage is actually why we age. Look at who’s at the top of the ORAC score list for the highest scoring antioxidant food on the planet… MY FAVORITE FOOD!

My dream come true. According to Cornell University, chocolate has more cancer-fighting properties than red wine or green tea!:
My father passed away from Cancer in May 2009. The last six months of his life he spent extensively studying nutrition and alternative medicine. This was a man who once considered himself a conservative and who really loved his Colony Pizza and red meat. We used to argue about everything under the sun. I miss him.

Taking Antioxidants before and during pregnancy prevents obesity, glucose intolerance in children.

Taking Antioxidants before and during pregnancy prevents obesity, glucose intolerance in children.:
Really cool for the momma’s of the world.

Medical bills cause 62 percent of bankruptcies (Why Prevention is Key to Preventing THIS)....

Medical bills cause 62 percent of bankruptcies (Why Prevention is Key to Preventing THIS)....:
The current state of The United States… We all need to educate ourselves on how to care for ourselves so that we do not fall down this financial hole… A whole food, high- antioxidant healthy diet is SO IMPORTANT….

David Wolfe Rocks. Isn't it obvious?

I remember the very first moment I put my very first two M&M’s into my mouth.

It was spectacular.

It was 8 PM and I was sitting in the backseat of my mom’s station wagon. We were coming back from the grocery store and I was four years old. My mom had bought a party-size bag of M&M’s and asked me if I wanted to try some. I carefully ripped the corner of the bag open in the dark. I wanted to make sure that I did not spill any of these magical M&M’s. I then popped two into my mouth. One was a red one and the other one was a green one.

Immediately, that amazing “melt-in-your-mouth” taste overwhelmed my senses. That was when my life changed changed forever. Now, here I am, 29 years later and still I have to eat chocolate every single day. :)
